What Happened Sept. 23?
What happened on September 23? And what does it mean?
An ancient prophecy was fulfilled in 2017 that holds some interesting implications for us. Let me give you a bunch of pieces and then try to put a picture together for you.
On Sept. 23, a heavenly constellation that was described in Revelation 12:1-2 came into alignment. It shows a woman in labor about to give birth. Later the passage talks about a male child that was born and caught up to God & His throne.
According to ancient Hebrew law, when a woman gave birth to a male child she was considered "unclean" for 7 days. And on the 8th day, the child would be circumcised.
70 years ago, in 1947, the UN voted to allow Israel to become a state. You could say Israel was born in 1947. In Scripture, Israel is often spoken of as a fig tree. Jesus told His disciples: “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” Matt. 24:32-34
A generation is described in Psalm 90:10. “The days of our years are threescore years and ten [70 years]; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore , yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.”
70 years brings us to 2017. Remember that Jesus said “this generation [70 to 80 years] shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”
It is believed that 2017 is a Jubilee year. 50 years ago, in June 1967, Jerusalem came back into the possession of the Jews. 1967: a year of Jubilee. Scripture says, “And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.” Lev. 25:10
2017 is the only Jubilee year left in the generation that sees the budding of the fig tree. The next Jubilee is 2067, and by then the generation would have passed.
The constellations were created with a purpose: “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years.” (Gen. 1:14) See also Ps. 19:1-5. They help us tell time and mark our place in prophecy. We’ve lost connection with the Jewish calendars, but the constellations were declared from the beginning and we can know where we are as they are fulfilled. And so the fulfillment of the constellation on Sept. 23 is a huge marker we need to pay attention to.
“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Cor. 15:52
“Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Cor. 15:50-53
I am not setting a date or predicting when the rapture will occur. I do not know when it will happen. But I am saying that it’s important to be aware and watchful because we are in prophetic times.
What I want you to take away from this is this: no matter where we are on the timeline of prophecy, we are in the last days of earth and life as we know it. Time is short. If there are conversations you need to have, have them. If there are things you need to say, say them. If there are things you need to do, do them. Let this urgency give you energy to LIVE and do the work you're here to do.
